Jaguars bring back DL Henry Mondeaux as practice squad addition

Two months after cutting Henry Mondeaux from the injured reserve, the Jaguars brought the defensive tackle back Monday.

Two months after cutting ties with Henry Mondeaux, the Jacksonville Jaguars brought the defensive tackle back Monday by adding him to their practice squad, the team announced.

Mondeaux, 28, was signed by the Jaguars as a free agent in March after spending the 2022 season with the New York Giants and the three years before that with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

An undisclosed injury landed Mondeaux on the Jaguars’ injured reserve in mid-August and the team reached an injury settlement to waive him from the roster a week later.

The veteran defensive tackle has appeared in 37 regular season games with six career starts. He has two sacks, four tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and 37 total tackles.

To make room for the addition, the Jaguars released defensive tackle Ross Blacklock from the practice squad. Jacksonville signed Blacklock in early September shortly after he was waived by the Minnesota Vikings at the end of preseason.
