Jags remain at No. 28 spot in Week 8 power rankings

The Jags remained at the No. 28 spot of USA TODAY’s power rankings after not playing last week.

While the Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t take the field for a game this week, it didn’t effect their positioning on USA TODAY’s power rankings. They remained at the No. 28 spot and the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, New York Jets, and Houston Texans were behind them, respectively.

Here is what USA TODAY’s Nate Davis had to say this week about the Cardiac Cats.

28. Jaguars (28): Lawrence seems to be quietly figuring out pro game, completing 66.3% of his passes and posting 93.8 QB rating over his past three outings. A date with Seattle’s secondary should keep the arrow trending up.

Davis is right about Lawrence getting better by the week and it mostly started during Week 4’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In addition to the aforementioned stats, he’s also cut down on his interceptions and has only thrown one since battling Cincinnati.

With plenty momentum by his side, and win No. 1 under his belt, Lawrence will go into this week with a lot of momentum. Maybe that could lead to a win against Seattle and a higher slot on Week 9’s power rankings.

As for the rest of the AFC South, the Tennessee Titans were ranked sixth and the Indianapolis Colts were ranked No. 17.
