Tennessee basketball player Jaden Springer has been drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Springer was the second Volunteers’ player drafted in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft, joining fellow Vols’ standout Keon Johnson.
Johnson was selected with the No. 21 overall selection by the Knicks and traded a short time later from New York to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Springer was selected by Philadelphia in the first round and with the No. 28 overall pick. Springer and Johnson were both drafted after their freshman season on Rocky Top.
Springer, who hails from Charlotte, North Carolina, played his high School basketball at IMG Academy in Florida.
He averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game for the Vols and was a member of the Southeastern Conference’s All-Freshman Team.
