Jaden Springer discusses back-and-forth between Sixers, G League

Philadelphia 76ers guard Jaden Springer discusses the back-and-forth he has dealt with between the NBA and the G League.

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers led the Detroit Pistons by as many as 41 on Tuesday on their way to an easy 147-116 win. They swept the home-and-home series and the season series with the Pistons, and some younger players gained playing time.

Jaden Springer, the No. 28 pick in the 2021 NBA draft, played 8:43 in the win. He had 10 points, two rebounds, a big putback slam and a steal. He showed off a nice ability to move off the ball for points, and he was very good on the defensive end.

On Wednesday, the Sixers reassigned Springer to the Delaware Blue Coats of the G League to get more playing time. The Sixers do not have the time to give to him to help him develop on the floor.

After the win, Springer discussed going back-and-forth between Philadelphia and Delaware.

“It’s been all over the place,” he said. “It’s been kind of like a roller coaster. I’m just making the best of it and enjoying my time. I learned last year everything’s unpredictable. So just stay ready, be ready to embrace everything, every opportunity. No matter if it’s here in the G league wherever they want me so just make the best.”

Springer looks to continue developing on the floor. He can’t do it with the Sixers; there are too many veterans in front of him and Philadelphia has title aspirations. The G League offers him that chance to play and grow his game.
