One of the big items on the offseason checklist for Penn State is beefing up its offensive line. And one of the biggest offensive linemen recruits in the NCAA transfer portal has Penn State in the running.
Hunter Nourzad, a second-team All-American during the 2021 season with Cornell, has listed Penn State in his top five schools. Nourzad announced his top five — which also includes Virginia Tech, Auburn, Iowa, and Illinois — with a graphic on his Twitter account on Monday afternoon. Nourzad has had plenty of offers come his way, including one from Michigan State.
The Georgia native would be a tremendous addition to the Penn State offensive line in 2022 as the Nittany Lions look to improve their ability to run the football, which starts with improving the stability of the offensive line.
Penn State extended an offer to Nourzad back in December with offensive line coach Phil Trautwein attempting to land the Cornell transfer. If Penn State is able to land the commitment of Nourzad, who has not established a timeline for making a transfer decision as of yet, it would be the second straight year Penn State has landed a commitment through the transfer portal from the Ivy League to plug a spot on the offensive line. Penn State added Eric Wilson from Harvard last year.
