It’s so cold at Dolphins – Chiefs that water appears to be insta-freezing at Arrowhead Stadium

Taking a water out of the fridge at Arrowhead Stadium somehow MADE IT COLDER. WAY COLDER.

The feels like temperature for tonight’s Wild Card matchup between the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs in western Missouri is -24 degrees. This is going to be miserable football.

That’s not limited to the players on the field. The fans in the stands, some of whom got in to an NFL playoff game in this, the year of our lord 2024, for less than $35, are going to be fighting the elements without the benefit of sideline heaters or the warmth of quick sprints downfield. If one viral video from Arrowhead Stadium is to be believed, they won’t get any relief in the concourse, either.

That’s because taking a bottle of water out of the refrigerator and into the frigid air of Kansas City appears to immediately begin a rapid freezing reaction.

Flash freezes were a real concern on the roads across the midwest this weekend. That apparently extends to the -3 temperatures at Arrowhead Stadium Saturday night. So if your plan to deal with the cold at the Chiefs’ game was to put on your inside coat with a handful of $12 beers, well, you’d better to able to drink them fast.
