It won’t happen, but Packers are odds-on favorite to sign WR Antonio Brown

The Packers aren’t going to sign Antonio Brown, even if oddsmakers believe they’re the favorite to do so.

At least one oddsmaker has identified the Green Bay Packers as the favorites to sign free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown, who is already suspended eight games to start the 2020 season after what can only be considered an insane 12 months from the former Pittsburgh Steelers star.

According to a press release from BetOnline, the Packers have 2/1 odds of adding Brown, who – according to the same oddsmakers – isn’t even favored (2/3 odds) to play any games in 2020.

The Packers sit above the Seattle Seahawks (5/2), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3/1) and Baltimore Ravens (4/1) as the betting favorites for adding Brown.

A true superstar with the Steelers, Brown devolved into an unstable and combustible mess over the last year. The NFL already suspended him for half of the 2020 season. He played in only one game last season after being traded from the Steelers to the Raiders and then joining the New England Patriots after forcing his way – through pure insanity – out of Oakland.

The Packers may have a need at receiver, but adding Brown to a tight-knit locker room lacking disruptive, me-first players is likely the last thing on GM Brian Gutekunst’s to-do list as training camp begins.

We here at Packers Wire are quite confident, despite the odds, that Brown won’t be a Packer in 2020:
