The San Antonio Spurs have a generational talent on their hands in the form of Victor Wembanyama. The 20-year-old rookie has been absolutely incredible for the Spurs despite the fact that they haven’t won many games. As the season has gone on, he’s gotten more and more comfortable, and the Spurs have improved their overall level of play.
His skillset on offense is impressive, but it’s Wembanyama’s potential on the defensive side of the ball that makes him such a special player. He’s already one of the league leaders in blocks, and in the eyes of some, one of the best defenders in the league.
The Ringer NBA YouTube channel recently discussed whether or not Wembanyama is already the best defender in the NBA.
He still has a lot of room to grow, but with his size, length, and IQ, Wembanyama’s defensive play is already better than most players in the league.
