Is this the real reason for Patriots meeting with QB prospect?

Why did the Patriots really meet with QB prospect Will Levis?

The New England Patriots reportedly met with Kentucky quarterback Will Levis last week, and they might have done so for several reasons, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

It could have been a homework type of meeting for New England. The Patriots could benefit from scouting Levis as he could be a future opponent for the Patriots defense. As Reiss notes, this could also be a chance for the organization to compare him to Mac Jones, who enters a crucial third season for the organization.

It has not been determined whether Levis’ visit will count for one of the 30 visits teams are allowed with prospects. Teams also are allowed visits with local-based players.

Levis had a strong season for Kentucky in 2022. He recorded 2,406 yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He finished his senior season in style, leading Kentucky to a 26-13 victory over 25th-ranked Louisville.

Whatever the case may be, Levis’ visit was beneficial for multiple reasons. It will be intriguing to see what New England does with their first-round selection with the draft kicking off on Thursday night.
