Is the Derrick White patch of rough play for the Boston Celtics behind him?

Whether it was caused by a podcast appearance or not, it seems to be over.

For much of the first half of the NBA’s 2023-24 season, star Boston Celtics point guard Derrick White was one of the best guards in the league’s Eastern Conference. Even if his counting stats did not always look like a traditional All-Star guard, his tendency to do the little things helped him contribute to winning at a high level.

Then White went on JJ Redick’s “Old Man and the 3” podcast to talk about a potential All-Star nod among other things, and his production plummeted soon after. While it’s clear there is no actual jinx involved, his play has since ticked up again. Is the Redick curse lifted, whatever the “curse” actually was?

Or might we see some variance in White’s play once again?

Speaking after he snapped his streak of rough play vs. the New Orleans Pelicans, the hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast debated this question. Check it out above!
