To the casual fan, Boston Celtics superstar forward Jayson Tatum was looking like the elite swingman that he has been for some time in the Celtics’ opening night win against the Philadelphia 76ers. But a closer look revealed an increased intensity and hunger coupled with a fine-tuning of how he attacks the basket, the pace he plays at, and several clues we might see the St. Louis native reach levels he has yet to reach.
Will we see more of the same this season? Could it even put the former Duke standout in the conversation to win the 2023 NBA Most Valuable Player Award? Is Tatum taking a leap to become one of the league’s top five players this season?
