Is a dominant defense back for the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals?

They are going to need it against this Heat squad if they want a chance at advancing.

From the start of Game 5 of the Boston Celtics‘ Eastern Conference finals series with the Miami Heat, the Celtics made their impact felt on the defensive end of the court. The ball club’s aggressive use of active hands and relentless defensive pressure forced a total of 16 Miami turnovers in the critical contest and created easy offense on the other end.

Is the defensive identity here to stay in what remains of the NBA’s 2023 postseason? Can the Celtics keep up the effort and the focus enough to make history and come back from being down 0-3 in the series? Or will the Heat find a way to get under Boston’s skin on the court once again and send them fishing?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report Postgame Show” podcast recently explained why Boston’s defense was so good in Game 5, and why they need to keep it up going into Game 6.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say about the Celtics’ defensive renaissance.
