IROC hopes to return for the 2024 racing season with historic cars

IROC hopes to return for the 2024 racing season with its historic race cars in a shocking move. Find out more details about IROC’s revival!

International Race of Champions (IROC) was founded in 1974 and normally dominated by NASCAR drivers. IROC went on a hiatus in 2007 to find a sponsor but could not accomplish that goal. As a result, the series went out of business. Now, 17 years later, it appears that IROC will return in a shocking announcement.

On Monday, it was revealed that Ray Evernham and Rob Kauffman have bought the IROC brand and trademark to revive the iconic racing series. They plan to offer “entertainment services in the nature of automobile racing and exhibitions.” The group hopes to have an event in 2024 with historic IROC race cars.

This is a major announcement, as IROC was fairly popular in the past. Lately, the racing world has been dominated by the SRX Series, which former NASCAR driver Tony Stewart owns. Evernham used to be with the SRX Series in an active role. Now, IROC could be making its big return and will surely be popular with race fans worldwide.
