Iowa star receives substantial ‘EA Sports College Football 25’ player rating increase

As a new update comes for EA Sports’ College Football 25, Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson earns an increased rating from his impressive play.

With his outstanding performance for the Hawkeyes this season, junior running back Kaleb Johnson has earned himself an upgraded player rating in the most recent update to EA Sports’ College Football 25 video game.

The update to Johnson’s player score now increases his previous overall rating by four points, from 87 to 91.

Amongst other running backs, Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty rose to 97 overall, Tennessee‘s Dylan Sampson leaped to 93, Arizona State’s Cam Skattebo climbed to 90, and UCF’s RJ Harvey evelated to 92.

Johnson’s impressive 1,035 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 132 carries make him a possible front-runner for the Doak Walker Award, presented to the nation’s best running back.

In addition to his rushing totals, Johnson has recorded 16 receptions for 102 yards and one touchdown. In each of Iowa’s first seven games, Johnson has recorded a touchdown on the ground, which has earned him a deserved focus from defenses across the Big Ten conference.

In his two previous seasons with the Hawkeyes, Johnson combined for nine touchdowns on the ground and accumulated 1,242 rushing yards. With the breakout year Johnson is having, he is on pace for 22 rushing touchdowns and 1,774 rushing yards by the end of the regular season.

With the increase in Johnson’s College Football 25 statistics, he surpasses tight end Luke Lachey as the Hawkeyes’ top offensive playmaker in the game.

Regarding the highest overall rated Hawkeye, that title belongs to linebacker Jay Higgins, who slots himself at a 95 overall.

Johnson will look to continue his breakout season on Saturday when the Hawkeyes welcome the Northwestern Wildcats (3-4, 1-3 Big Ten) to Kinnick Stadium. The game time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT and will air on the Big Ten Network.
