International prospect Alperen Sengun on Wednesday told Jonathan Givony of ESPN that he has filed the necessary paperwork to enter the 2021 NBA draft after a productive season in Europe.
Sengun, who is widely projected to be a first-round pick, averaged 19.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 steals in 29 games with Besiktas in the Turkish League. He shot 65% from the field, including 81.2% from the free-throw line.
The 18-year-old has been highly touted for his ability to score in the paint and create for his teammates. He led the Turkish League in several areas, including scoring, rebounding, blocks and scoring efficiency to help his team to the playoffs.
He was named the 2020-21 Turkish BSL MVP on Wednesday.

With the regular season wrapped up, Sengun will turn his focus toward the Turkish League playoffs, which begin this weekend. He also plans to play with Turkey during the Olympic qualifying tournament in Canada next month.
The NBA draft is scheduled to take place on July 29.
