Instant analysis of the Steelers big preseason win over the Falcons

The Steelers dominated the Falcons in all phases on Thursday night.

The Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up an impressive preseason on Thursday night with a 27-0 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Pittsburgh chose to play the starters for two drives and continued their streak of scoring and keeping opposing offenses scoreless.

On offense, starting quarterback Kenny Pickett was perfect. He led the Steelers on two more touchdown drives and went 4-for-4 for 86 passing yards. The touchdowns were courtesy of the run game. Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren and Anthony McFarland all scored and the offensive line really stood out.

Defensively, it was business as usual. This is a deep unit and it doesn’t seem to matter which grouping is on the field, they are going to stuff the run up front, rush the passer and harass pass catchers. T.J. Watt and Nick Herbig along with Elandon Roberts, Quincy Roche and Tody Ndukwe all recorded sacks

Playing on Thursday means the Steelers have 17 days to prepare for their Week One game against the San Francisco 49ers. Pittsburgh went 3-0 in the preseason.
