Injury Report: Lakers’ LeBron James (ankle) out vs. Warriors on Thursday

The Lakers will be without LeBron James due to an ankle injury on Thursday against the Warriors.

Before play resumes following the All-Star break, the Golden State Warriors are 10th in the Western Conference, trailing the Los Angeles Lakers in ninth place by 1 1/2 games. The Warriors are tied with the Lakers in the loss column with 26 losses each.

The Warriors will have the chance to gain ground on the Lakers when they welcome them to San Francisco’s Chase Center on Thursday to open the post-All-Star break stretch of the season.

When the Lakers come to the Bay Area, they will be missing All-Star forward LeBron James. James has been ruled out for Thursday’s game due to a left ankle injury.

In late January, James recorded a triple-double against the Warriors with 36 points, 20 rebounds and 12 assists in the Lakers’ 145-144 double-overtime win at Chase Center.

Without James, the Lakers will lean on Rui Hachimura and Taurean Prince alongside Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves and former Warrior D’Angelo Russell.

The Warriors are expected to tip off against the Lakers on Thursday at 7 p.m. PT.
