Injury Report: Klay Thompson out for second leg of road back-to-back on Wednesday vs. Nets

Klay Thompson has been ruled out for the second leg of the Warriors’ road back-to-back on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets.

The Golden State Warriors will have to turn the page quickly after their blowout loss to the New York Knicks on Tuesday. Just 24 hours later, the Warriors will open the second leg of a road back-to-back against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

In Brooklyn, things won’t get any easier for the Warriors with a slew of players expected to miss the contest due to injuries. On Tuesday, Steph Curry (shoulder), Andrew Wiggins (adductor), Donte DiVincenzo (non-COVID illness) and JaMychal Green (health and safety protocol) all missed Golden State’s loss in New York.

On Wednesday, the Warriors’ list of absences will grow. Klay Thompson has been ruled out for the second leg of Golden State’s road back-to-back on Wednesday in Brooklyn. Thompson will miss the chance to face his former teammate Kevin Durant. Thompson hasn’t played the second game of back-to-back throughout the season.

During Tuesday’s loss in New York, Thompson struggled, scoring only 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field and 1-of-5 from beyond the arc with four boards, two assists and five turnovers in 26 minutes.

Without Curry and Thompson, Golden State’s backcourt will be led by Jordan Poole. The 23-year-old guard will likely be joined by fellow young players like Moses Moody and Ryan Rollins against the Nets.

The Warriors will meet the Nets for the final game of their road swing on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. PT in Brooklyn.
