Injury Report: James Wiseman probable for Sunday vs. Trail Blazers after tweaking ankle

After tweaking his ankle on Friday, rookie James Wiseman is listed as probable for Sunday’s rematch with the Portland Trail Blazers.

After recording eight points on 2-of-8 shooting from the field with five rebounds and two blocks against the Portland Trail Blazers, James Wiseman’s first game in the Bay Area came to a close early.

In the fourth quarter of Golden State’s 123-98 home-opening loss to the Trail Blazers, the 2020 No. 2 overall draft pick came down with an injury.

With Steph Curry streaking up the court on a fastbreak, Wiseman fell to the ground after rolling his ankle. After the apparent injury, Wiseman stayed on the floor before leaving the game.

Luckily for the Warriors, it looks like the talented rookie big will be back on the court for the second game of Golden State’s early-season series with the Trail Blazers.

Despite his injury, the Memphis product was back on the floor at Golden State’s practice on Saturday. During a post-practice presser with members of the media on Saturday, Kerr said Wiseman has “no issues” after his injury on Friday night.

The rookie big man is listed as probable on the injury report for Golden State’s rematch against the Trail Blazers on Sunday evening at Chase Center. With Marquese Chriss and Alen Smailagic already sidelined, it looks like the Warriors avoided another injury in the frontcourt.
