Injury Report: Cowboys left-side of OL in jeopardy, Giants starters healthy

An updated look at the Cowboys and Giants injuries as the Week 1 showdown approaches. | From @KDDrummondNFL

The Dallas Cowboys didn’t practice their starters during the preseason, choosing to try and avoid injuries instead of getting reps in. However as the season opener approaches, it is them with the most serious injuries on their 53-man roster, not the New York Giants who played their guys in the exhibitions. On Thursday, Dallas added another offensive lineman to the practice report, as Tyron Smith now has an ankle situation.

The team’s likely gameplan in case of the inevitable Smith injury would be to move left guard Tyler Smith outside to tackle; only he was injured first. Meanwhile the Giants list seven of their players as limited for the second consecutive day, but none of them are frontline guys like four of the five Cowboys on their side. Here’s a look at Thursday’s injury update for the Sunday night matchup.
