According to RACER’s Marshall Pruett, IndyCar denied an entry request with the intention of “promoting both Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former president Donald Trump on the car’s bodywork.” It is unclear which driver and team were denied this request. This comes as the 2024 Presidential Election is set to take place in November.
According to IndyCar in a statement through RACER, “IndyCar does not approve sponsorships associated with elected officials, candidates for political office or political action committees.” The Indianapolis 500 is one of the biggest sporting events of the entire year, rivaling the Super Bowl in terms of overall popularity.
