Inclement Weather Forecast Shifts Weekend Schedule

Due to forecasted rain for Sunday, Arkansas’ weekend series with Southeastern sees a shakeup.

Death. Taxes. Inclement weather shaking up weekend baseball games.

That seems to be the trend for the No. 10 Arkansas Razorbacks, as their weekend series with Southeastern has been changed.

Due to forecasted rain for Sunday, game three of the series with the Lions will now be played on Saturday as part of a double-header, Arkansas baseball announced Friday.

Friday’s series-opener will go on as scheduled, with Connor Noland taking the bump for the Razorbacks for the 3 p.m. start. The first game of Saturday’s twin bill will now take place at noon, with game two scheduled to begin 45 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Hagen Smith is slated to start game one, while Jaxon Wiggins gets the call for game two.

According to Arkansas Athletics, tickets to Sunday’s game are no longer valid. Fans who purchased tickets to Sunday’s game can exchange them for Saturday tickets, or for a future game based on availability. Tickets for Saturday’s originally scheduled game will be good for both games.

The schedule shakeup is the second in as many weekends for the Razorbacks. Last weekend, frigid temperatures and rain caused the playing surface at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas to be unplayable, forcing Arkansas to play a double-header with Stanford and Louisiana last Sunday.
