‘I’m proud of our group,’ says Jaylen Brown of Celtics’ Game 4 win vs. Miami

“We want to make sure that we stayed together. We wanted to make sure that we looked each other in the eye and came out today and put our best foot forward,” said Brown.

In Game 3 of the Boston Celtics‘ Eastern Conference final with the Miami Heat, it looked as if Game 4 was going to be the last of their 2022-23 campaign.

However, the Celtics found a way to win Game 4.

“When you get to this point down 3-0, you see locker rooms and teams start to go in the other direction,” star forward Jaylen Brown said after the win via CLNS Media. “We want to make sure that we stayed together. We wanted to make sure that we looked each other in the eye and came out today and put our best foot forward. I’m proud of our group for doing that because you see teams with their back against the wall and you see they just collapse.

“We wanted to stay together,” he continued. “I think that was the emphasis last night before we played today — making sure we were on the same page.”

“We didn’t want to come out and lay an egg,” suggested Brown of the Celtics’ season-saving performance.

“We wanted to come out and play together, wanted to come out and trust each other, come out and play some defense, have some pride about yourself, and find a way to win a game. We’re all more than capable of doing it.
