Illinois’ top class of 2027 offensive lineman to make visit to Wisconsin this fall

Top-ranked class of 2027 offensive lineman Cameron Wagner announced plans to visit Madison on Sept. 7 via X on Thursday.

Wagner, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound prospect, will make his way to Wisconsin the weekend UW plays South Dakota on the gridiron. A.J. Blazek, UW’s esteemed offensive line coach, appears to have spearheaded the recruitment effort.

247Sports currently ranks Wagner as the No. 67 overall recruit in the class of 2027, the No. 7 offensive tackle and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Illinois. With several years of high school football remaining before he commits, his four-star rating could certainly continue to rise.

The St. Joseph-Ogden High School product currently holds three offers from Illinois, Louisville and Miami (Ohio). Like his rating, that number will expand throughout his high school football career.

247Sports also outlines Wagner’s attendance at Michigan, Tennessee and Illinois football camps this summer.

While the 2027 recruiting class is not much of a priority this summer, Fickell’s crew is putting its name in Wagner’s collegiate hat before countless other suitors decide to do the same.
