Ice Vols welcome new 2020 class.

KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee hockey club had its 2020 Signing Day recently and the Ice Vols announced there 2020-21 incoming class earlier this month.

The Ice Vols, who were founded in 1966 and are the oldest college hockey club in the South, announced their four new signees on Thursday, April 9 and Friday, April 10.

The incoming class includes Maclain Chaney, E.J. Paulhardt, Parker Wyatt and Matt Megazzini.

Chaney, a 6-foot-3, 180-pond left winger, comes to Rocky Top from San Jose, California. There, the left-handed shooter plays for the San Jose Jr. Sharks.

Paulhardt hails from Canton, Ohio. The 5-foor-10, 180-pound defenseman plays for the Canton-Akron Jets. He’s also a left-handed shooter.

Wyatt, a forward, comes to Tennessee from Falmouth, Maine, where he plays for New England Prep. He is 5-foot-10 and weighs 175-pounds and has a right-handed shot.

Megazzini, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound forward, hails from Yorkville, Illinois. He has a left-handed shot and played his high school hockey at Joliet Catholic Academy.

The Ice Vols are members of the American College Hockey Association and they compete in the South Eastern Collegiate Hockey Conference.
