Tennessee hockey returned to action Friday in a late-night showdown.
The Ice Vols dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to Ole Miss in a South Eastern Hockey Conference game at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.
Drew King scored two goals for Tennessee (3-4), including a third-period tally that sent the game to overtime.
Adam Carter also had a short-handed goal for the Ice Vols, who have played three overtime games early in the 2021-22 season. Tennessee is 2-1 in those games, having beaten Florida and South Carolina.
The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Ice Vols, who swept the Gamecocks in their home-opening series last week.
Tennessee and the Rebels conclude their SEHC series Sunday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
