Huskers make Top Ten for class of 2026 all-purpose running back

Nebraska football made the top ten for a talented running back on Wednesday.

Nebraska football made the top 10 for 2026 running back Brian Bonner Jr. He made the announcement on social media on Wednesday afternoon.

Bonner is a four-star running back. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he is the 11th overall running back in his class and the 13th overall player from the state of California.

He has several big-name schools in his top 10. Stanford, Washington, Georgia, Penn State, Tennessee, Utah, California, UCLA, and USC also made his list

Bonner is an all-purpose back and rushed for 500 yards on the ground for Valencia High School. He also showed his abilities as a receiving back, recording 457 yards, per his 247Sports profile.

The 2026 Nebraska football recruiting class is still being worked on, but it has talented players such as quarterback Dayton Raiola and wide receiver Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte.

The Huskers have done a solid job of establishing running back depth in future classes. Bonner would give Nebraska a running back with tremendous speed and vision and a pass-catching threat out of the backfield. He would fit a high-powered offense for the program moving forward.
