UNLV fans couldn’t have entered their team’s game with Notre Dame feeling good about their chances. They once again were missing quarterback Doug Brumfield, and this game also lacked top Rebels running back Aidan Robbins. Maybe the contest indeed would have been closer with those two in the game. That’s all we’re left to do as the Rebels lost, 44-21, to make it three consecutive defeats after three straight wins.
The good news for the Rebels is that pretty much every remaining opponent is below them in the Mountain West West Division, so they aren’t out of the running for the conference title yet. Still, it’s going to be a difficult road ahead if they don’t get the aforementioned offensive skills players back soon. Although Rebels fans will have plenty of time to wonder about that, the upsetting thing now is that their team lost. Here’s what some of them said on Twitter after the loss to the Irish:
