Two of the best teams in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament will face off in the Sweet 16 this week.
Whoever wins Friday’s Sweet 16 matchup between No. 2 Texas and No. 3 Miami will face the winner of No. 1 Houston and No. 5 Miami in the Elite Eight.
Texas has had an impressive run to get to this point. Rodney Terry’s squad won the Big 12 Tournament, defeating Kansas in the championship game, before the NCAA tournament kicked off. The Longhorns then defeated two of the best three-point shooting teams throughout the first two rounds of March Madness.
Now, Texas has reached the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2008 thanks to a career performance from forward Dylan Disu against Penn State last weekend.
