There was no winner in No. 1 LSU’s series last weekend against the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia. A decisive Game 3 was canceled due to the weather, and the series went down as a split.
The Tigers don’t have much time to dwell on it as they hit the road for a midweek game on Tuesday night. LSU will take the short trip over to New Orleans to take on a Tulane team that enters this game at 9-23.
The Green Wave are coming off a 2-1 series loss to South Florida, though they won their American Athletic Conference opening series against Memphis.
“Tulane is a much better team than their record indicates; they have played an extremely tough schedule,” Coach [autotag]Jay Johnson[/autotag] said in a release. “They have good players, and they’re really well-coached. If we win, I’m going to walk out of there feeling like it’s a good win. Tulane will finish better in the American Conference than what was predicted in the preseason.”
As Johnson said, this is a team playing better than its record right now. Midweek games are never easy, especially on the road. Here’s what you need to know to follow this one, which begins at 6 p.m. CT.
