How to watch as No. 1 LSU baseball travels to take on Ole Miss this weekend

The Tigers will head to Oxford this weekend looking to bounce back from Tuesday’s loss to the Ragin’ Cajuns.

The Tigers narrowly survived a hard-fought series against a good Kentucky team last weekend at Alex Box Stadium, but now they’re looking for a bounce-back after suffering a home loss to Louisiana on Tuesday night — the first midweek loss of the season for the Tigers.

Luckily, things ease up a bit here. LSU (29-7, 9-5 SEC) doesn’t have any remaining series against ranked opponents, and first up is a road trip to take on an Ole Miss team that has struggled quite a bit since SEC play began.

This team once ranked in the top five but now sits at 21-16 on the year and is just 3-12 in SEC play. The defending national champion Rebels are still looking for their first SEC series win after dropping two games against a Mississippi State team that had also seen some recent struggles.

“The top of the Ole Miss lineup is as good as any in college baseball,” coach [autotag]Jay Johnson[/autotag] said in a release. “It’s a complete team with a lot of experience back from last year’s national championship. We’re looking forward to the challenge this weekend. We’re playing the national champs on the road; we’re excited to play in a great environment and have the opportunity to get after those guys.”

LSU still hasn’t dropped an SEC series this season and remains in a good position to contend for the regular season conference title, but a sweep in Oxford, Mississippi, this weekend would go a long way.

Here’s how you can follow the series, which begins Friday night.

UPDATE: Game 1’s start time on Friday was pushed back to 8:30 p.m. CT to avoid potential bad weather.
