The Tigers responded well in the midweek to their first series loss of the year against Auburn last weekend, run-ruling Northwestern State.
Now, Mississippi State (24-23, 6-18 SEC) comes to town as the struggling Bulldogs look to be the next team to knock off now-No. 2 LSU. It’s been a struggle for the Bulldogs this season, and though they have a pair of series wins, they’ve been swept the last two weekends by Tennessee and Arkansas.
The Tigers (38-10, 16-7 SEC) enter this series half a game behind the Razorbacks in the SEC West as well as behind Vanderbilt in the overall standings. LSU will hope to hand MSU its third-straight sweep, which would go a long way toward helping this team’s chances in the hunt for the SEC regular season title.
Here’s what you need to know to follow the weekend series, which begins on Friday night.
