Another year, another spring football league.
This time it’s the reimagining of the USFL, which will play its first game in over 35 years. The upstart league features eight teams with a 10-week regular season and a two-week postseason. Their entire inaugural season is being played in Birmingham, Alabama.
The league features a number of former NFL players and coaches. Two former Kansas City Chiefs quarterbacks — Shea Patterson and Jordan Ta’amu — have been named starters for the Michigan Panthers and Tampa Bay Bandits, respectively. There are actually quite a few former Chiefs players who are playing for a number of different teams throughout the league. Former Chiefs HC Todd Haley also happens to be the head coach of the Bandits.
