Conference championship week is here around the world of college basketball, and the Big Ten is starting things off with its women’s tournament on Wednesday in Indianapolis. Penn State will be a part of the opening day of the Big Ten tournament with a matchup against Rutgers in the first round.
Penn State (11-17, 5-13 Big Ten) comes into the Big Ten tournament with the No. 12 seed, and Rutgers (10-19, 3-14 Big Ten) enters with the No. 13 seed. A second-round matchup with No. 5-seed Indiana awaits the winner of this one.
This will be the first conference tournament meeting between the two schools since meeting in the Atlantic-10 semifinals in 1990. My, how times have changed. With All-Big Ten First Team Makenna Marisa leading the way, Penn State should be feeling pretty good about this chance of advancing to Thursday to face the Hoosiers.
