Montana was Brady’s childhood idol, and the former San Francisco 49ers great even came out this offseason and said the Patriots made a mistake by letting Brady leave. Montana knows all too well what can happen when changing teams, too. The four-time Super Bowl champion was traded from the Niners to the Kansas City Chiefs in 1993 and spent the final two years of his career in KC, throwing for 29 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in that span, including 13 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in his first season. He helped lead KC to the playoffs each year, but failed to get them to the Super Bowl. Fortunately, the Chiefs ended up beating Montana’s old team the Niners in Super Bowl LIV this year. Funny how the universe works, right?
