Week 9 of the 2024 college football campaign has come and gone and following another exciting weekend of fall’s favorite sport, the US LBM Coaches Poll saw some changes among its top 25 teams as well as the vote-getters.
The top six schools remain unmoved, as the Oregon Ducks are still perched atop the standings with an 8-0 overall record and 53 of the 54 first-place votes. The Georgia Bulldogs earned the last lone vote and sits second ahead of their big rivalry game against the Florida Gators this coming weekend.
The Penn State Nittany Lions, Ohio State Buckeyes and Miami Hurricanes, respectively, round out the top five this week, while the Texas Longhorns tag along at No. 6.
SEC schools in Coaches Poll top 25
As for Southeastern Conference schools in the poll, following Georgia and Texas are the Tennessee Volunteers (No. 7), Texas A&M Aggies (No. 11), Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 14), LSU Tigers (No. 16), Ole Miss Rebels (No. 18) and Missouri Tigers to give the SEC eight teams in the top 25.
The Vanderbilt Commodores dropped out but remain a de facto No. 29 team with 13 votes while the Arkansas Razorbacks are tied for the de facto No. 33 ranking with three votes.
