How the Boston Celtics can lock up star wing Jaylen Brown long term

The Georgia native is in line for a big payday should he qualify for an All-NBA bid.

Almost every season, star Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown has improved his game, pushing himself from a prospect who was booed by fans of his own team to a borderline top-20 player in the league. Now, after making his second All-Star game in three seasons and looking every bit the part of an All-NBA player, the Georgia native is in line for a big payday should he qualify for that All-NBA bid.

It would make Brown eligible for as much as a five-season, $290 million payday if he makes any All-NBA squad this season, and that would almost certainly make the Celtics a lock to re-sign the former Cal-Berkeley star.

To talk all the above over and what it could mean for Boston, the folks at NBC Boston Sports got together on “Early Edition” to discuss it.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.
