The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners will depart for the SEC on July 1, 2024.
The Longhorns will leave the Big 12 in a bittersweet ending, with commissioner Brett Yormark making biased comments towards the other teams staying in the conference.
During Texas’ time in the Big 12, they’ve won three conference championships in football. Since their last title in 2009, Texas has endured times that most fans would like to forget. Now that head coach Steve Sarkisian is at the helm, things are trending back in the right direction for the program.
Leaving for the SEC will improve Texas in all aspects. Recruiting and facing quality competition will improve the team’s overall performance.
