2013: New York Jets (8-8)
Super Bowl XLVIII: MetLife Stadium
The Jets were led by quarterback Geno Smith (who we all remember so fondly) and finished 8-8 after winning three of their last four games, leading owner Woody Johnson to announce Rex Ryan’s return in the locker room. Things didn’t work out so well for Ryan the following year, however. New York finished 2014 with a 4-12 record, bringing an end to Ryan’s tenure as head coach. Meanwhile, the 2013 NFL season concluded at MetLife Stadium with the Seattle Seahawks dismantling the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos in the first cold weather Super Bowl.
