“How ’bout them Cowboys?” was the question everyone in America was asking in 2010, but for all the wrong reasons. The Cowboys got off to a horrendous 1-7 start, causing owner Jerry Jones to make a mid-season change after an embarrassing 45-7 loss to the Packers on a nationally-televised Sunday night game. Out was Wade Phillips as head coach and in was offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, who would finish out the season 5-3 and then stay on as Cowboys coach through the 2019 season. And, to bring everything full circle, those very Packers who ushered in the Garrett era in Dallas also won Super Bowl XLV in the Cowboys’ stadium, with Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers taking home Super Bowl MVP honors.
