At this point in the 2022-23 NBA season, it is clear to most fans of the Boston Celtics and the league in general that star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has taken his game to a new level and is the leading 2023 Kia Most Valuable Player award candidate.

Even those among us who have watched his games religiously do not have the front-row seat his teammates have, and on a recent episode of JJ Redick’s “Old Man and the Three” podcast, teammate Derrick White told his story of witnessing the St. Louis native blossom into a top three player in the league.
