How ex-Giants fared in Week 4 of XFL season

Week 4 of the 2020 XFL regular season is officially in the books, so here’s a look at how former members of the New York Giants fared.

The XFL officially wrapped up Week 4 over the weekend and to their credit, some of the play on the field is getting better and the games more entertaining.

Of course, their sideline interviews and unique rule changes help propel the league forward, but that’s not all there is to enjoy at this point.

But that’s not what you’re here for anyway, so let’s skip the commentary and move onto how former members of the New York Giants fared this past week.

Former Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride and his staff, including a few other ex-Giants, picked up their second win of the season after benching quarterback Matt McGloin in favor of Luis Perez.

Offensive lineman Damien Mama and Jarron Jones both played and didn’t call attention to themselves, so that’s usually a good sign for the hog mollies. Mama also celebrated with the fans after the victory, which is a unique aspect of the league.

Tight end Jake Powell hauled in three receptions on four targets for a team-leading 34 yards.

Meanwhile, for the Wildcats, quarterback Josh Johnson had another huge week, completing 25 of his 40 pass attempts 330 yards, two touchdowns, one interceptions and a 94.8 QB rating.

Defensively, edge rusher Devin Taylor recorded three tackles (two for a loss), two QB hits, 1.5 sacks and one pass defensed.
