Money line (ML)
The GRIZZLIES (-140) are a good play straight up. Yes, they were cooled off by the Indiana Pacers last time out, losing 134-116 on the road, and they hope it isn’t Groundhog Day all over again on their home floor.
The Rockets are playing for the third time in the past four days, so fatigue is a factor.
Against the spread (ATS)
The GRIZZLIES -2.5 (-110) are the public’s choice, driving the number up slightly from an opening of 1 to its current place. It’s always concering backing the same thing as Joey Public, but Memphis has just been so hot. The Grizz are 7-1 straight up and ATS across their past eight, so ride them until the wheels fall off.
On the flip side, the Rockets are a dismal 2-7 ATS in their past nine tries when playing on no rest, and they’re 3-7 ATS across the past 10 against winning teams.
Over/Under (O/U)
UNDER 223.5 (-110) is the play here, although it certainly won’t be misconstrued for a pre-shot clock game. There will be offense, just not enough to push the total Over.
The Under is an impressive 21-5 in the past 26 home games for the Grizz, and the Under is 12-4-1 in Houston’s past 17, including 8-2 in its last 10 as a dog. The Under is also 5-2 in the previous seven meetings in Memphis.
