After missing 11 games due to a shoulder injury, Steph Curry recently made his highly anticipated return to the court. In his first three games back, Curry was uncharacteristically quiet on offense, scoring more than 20 points in only one game.
However, Monday’s game against the Washington Wizards was a different story.
The reigning NBA Finals Most Valuable Player caught fire for a blazing 41 points on 12-of-28 shooting from the field. Curry landed six of his signature jumpers from beyond the arc on 15 attempts from deep.
The eight-time All-Star guard added seven boards and two assists in 38 minutes during a rare road win for Golden State on Monday night in D.C.
With the game tight, Curry notched 12 of his 41 points in the fourth quarter to help close out the Wizards. Curry buried two triples in the final frame to fend off the Wizards.
Curry’s 41-point performance marked his third-highest-scoring performance of the season and his fourth game during the 2022-23 NBA campaign with 40 or more points.
