On Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs extended their dominance over the Florida Gators, flipping 4-star running back Chauncey Bowens from UF to UGA.
Bowens, from the Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida, is the nation’s No. 12 ranked running back in the class of 2024, per 247Sports. He is ranked as the No. 202 overall player in the nation.
At 5-foot-11, 220 pounds, Bowens becomes Georgia’s 18th commit in its No. 1 ranked class of 2024.
In 2021, Bowens rushed for 1,193 yards and recorded 13 total touchdowns on 179 carries. Last season, he recorded 130 carries, for 940 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns.
Bowens is a three-sport athlete. He runs track and field and plays lacrosse in addition to football. The Benjamin School star has good speed and maintains balance through contact.
247Sports’ scouting report of Bowens describes him as a big, bruising ball carrier who seeks out contact, but is also elusive enough to avoid it at times.
“A thick downhill runner with the vision and foot speed to produce big gains,” Andrew Ivins, the Director of Scouting, says.
