Highlights from Texas’ first scrimmage of spring ball

Texas fans will get the opportunity to see this in person on April 23.

Texas is about halfway through spring ball and several highlights have surfaced via social media over the last two weeks.

Spring practices are understandably closed to the public aside from the annual Orange-White game on April 23, therefore these teasers are the closest Longhorns fans can get to Texas football throughout the offseason.

Texas held their first spring scrimmage on April 9, and second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian was overall pleased with the performance on both sides of the ball.

When Sarkisian spoke to the media on Tuesday, he noted that both quarterbacks played well. Neither Hudson Card or Quinn Ewers turned the ball over, and they were each over 70% completion percentage.

The highlight of the scrimmage was an effortless deep pass from Ewers to star wide receiver Xavier Worthy for a touchdown. In case you missed it, here’s a few shots from the Longhorns first scrimmage.
