Florida baseball continued its College World Series success on Wednesday with a 15-4 win over the Kentucky Wildcats in the elimination game. The Gators will now face the Texas A&M Aggies at 7 p.m. ET to earn a spot in the final round.
Kevin O’Sullivan’s team exploded out of the gate, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the first inning after the ‘Cats crossed the plate once in the top of the frame. The Orange and Blue added two more in the third and five more in the fifth, with the cherry on top coming with a run in the sixth.
Kentucky simply could not keep up with their opponent’s offensive outburst, putting up just one run in the fourth and a pair int he fifth as their postseason aspirations fizzled out.
