Hevynne Bristow to transfer to Ohio State women’s basketball program

Providence guard Hevynne Bristow announced her transfer to the Ohio State women’s basketball program Friday.

It’s the age of the transfer and the Ohio State women’s basketball team isn’t immune to where college athletics are headed. According to a post appearing on her Instagram account, 6-foot, 1-inch guard Hevynne Bristow will be transferring from Providence to Ohio State.

The news is welcome for head coach Kevin McGuff because the Buckeyes lost a couple of players via transfer themselves with the departure of outgoing freshman Kierstan Bell and sophomore Janai Krooms.

Bristow will have three years of eligibility left after averaging just shy of three points per contest last season. She will join a very young and talented roster that began to find itself at the tail-end of last year. The Buckeyes finished fifth in the Big Ten but made a run all the way to the Big Ten Championship game during postseason play.
