The New England Patriots have the No. 23 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
If the New Orleans Saints won their wild-card round playoff game on Sunday, the Patriots would have been slotted at No. 24. The Patriots drafted Isaiah Wynn in 2018 with the No. 23 pick, but it was a result of a trade that send Brandin Cooks to the Los Angeles Rams.
The last time that the Patriots had the No. 23 pick or higher without a trade involved was when they drafted Laurence Maroney with the No. 21 pick in 2006. The Patriots in recent years have drafted lower in the first round — N’Keal Harry was drafted at No. 32 last season.
New England has plenty of holes to fill and it currently holds eight picks in the draft next season — with potentially four compensatory picks.
Here’s a current look at the 12 picks:
- 1st round – Pick 23
- 2nd round – Pick 87
- 2 projected 3rd round compensatory picks
- 4th round (Chicago)
- 6th round (Houston)
- 6th round (Denver)
- 2 projected 6th round compensatory picks
- 7th round (Seattle)
- 7th round (Eagles)
- 7th round (Falcons)
