Voluntary team activities are slated to resume for the New England Patriots this week after the team was docked two days of OTAs for a reported scheduling violation.
The team cancelled last Thursday’s meeting, which was slated to be the first OTA practice open to the media. It was a disappointing turn of events for fans eager to get notes on what the 2023 team looks like on the football field.
Hopefully, that disappointment won’t last for long with the Patriots expected to return to the field on Wednesday, May 31, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss. That day is important considering it is also a planned open practice for media members.
Reiss wrote:
The Patriots will be back on the field Wednesday after a six-day break, and reporters are scheduled to be present for the first time this spring. Belichick is expected to answer questions.
Belichick answering questions from the media could get interesting, but at the same time, I wouldn’t expect much in the way of the OTAs controversy from the typically tight-lipped coach.
But it will be great to see some elements of the offense and how the Patriots’ rookies look initially at the next level.
